The hammer-dude was - in his own words - looking for Nancy Pelosi, making a strong argument against that batty theory. Not to mention that Pelosi's husband isn't gay - a fact strongly implied by the very phrase, "Pelosi's husband."
Alternative theory: That a solid decade-plus of the right-wing media ecosystem demonizing Pelosi in every way imaginable has made her seem like an acceptable target for violence, esp. among certain particularly deranged/desperate individuals?
