Getting diagnosed

Finally getting that security of having your diagnoses can be a great feeling, even if you already knew what it would be. I always encourage people to get a proper diagnoses regardless of their intuition.

I'm either "major depressive disorder" "bipolar depression" or "bipolar 2 with melancholia" depending on which shrink I talk to.

Fortunately they all call for the same meds, so which one(s) (if any) it is makes absolutely no material difference.

I think my problems stem from a sexually transmitted disease I inherited called "being alive", but fortunately it tends to resolve itself in a matter of a few decades. 🤷

That ending man! I feel it. My trick is being too stubborn to let life win. I would love to be struck by lightning one day, but I'm not letting the bullshit of society take me out.

Wanted to add that yes, typically if the medications and treatment are all the same anyway the specific diagnosis is mostly irrelevant and semantic. The slight variations between the disorders are more for the doctors than the patients.

In my case certainly. In that respect I'm quite lucky. I can't think of any conditions that share a constelation of symptoms but require drastically different treatments, but I'm sure there are plenty.

What my gut and what science tells me is that I have both. But I'm like, no, I can't have BOTH! But, it turns, out, it's ok to have both tho. Don't feel greedy if you feel like you do have both. Being yourself is never greedy
