Politicians need to stop taking money from Big Pharma...

Ten years ago, a Hepatitis C diagnosis was a death sentence to many patients. Protocols involving drugs and other treatment kept people alive at a cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. Some patients needed Liver Transplants costing $2-million or more, plus anti-rejection drug costs for life. Today, drugs that cure over 90% of Hep-C patients are available for as little as $24,000 per 12-week regimen. Curse Big Pharma and its capitalist approach of finding a need and filling it!

Newsflash... That's not Capitalism...

Capitalism is an economic system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit.

The Pharmaceutical industry identifies areas where better drugs can improve health, prolong life and. or decrease costs. In this endeavor, they make profits.

How is that not capitalism?

Yes... Big Pharma never price gouged... smh
1 up, 2y
Capitalism is not perfect. It is just better than every other system. We regulate capitalists to hold down the temptation to gouge. Gas companies are more than likely doing so now. Americans are leery about more government control of markets. Conservatives especially want less control. I am OK with minimal but not no control. Consumers are being pushed too far right now, in my opinion. But I am not a fan of Bernie Sanders' adversarial approach. We need a strong hand in a velvet glove. I prefer Keynes philosophy.

No it would not.
"dicreet healthcare districts" lol...sound so, so...Communist
How about the damn government get out of the healthcare business. Everything that the government touches today turns to shit.

Here's an idea. Stop taking anything touched by the government in any way. Start with the internet. Stay off our streets. Buy your food direct from the trunks of cars. The USDA "communists" have no place in your kitchen.

Medicare is an insurance bought by people who meet its requirements. Insurance is only "Communist," if you don't understand the basics of economics. Suggesting a decentralization and contracting out to private providers of a centralized government program is the opposite of being "Communist."

The focus of your comment suggests you are less interested in an informed dialogue, and more interested in a direct attack on and inappropriate labeling of me. Please stop the name calling. Also, please watch your language. I would hate to have to report you.

Here's an idea, Larry.
Try reading what I posted and direct your comment(s) to what I posted, not what you interpreted.

1) the "No" referred to your analogy regarding the De Soto. Medicare gets its "power" from taxpayers, while a Tesla catches fire or the batteries die and you can't get a new one for less than $20,000 and your locked out until you buy a new battery
2) "discreet healthcare districts" DO sound very Communist
3) I specifically wrote " Everything that the government touches today turns to shit." the operative words were "Government", "TODAY" (very important, pay attention Larry) and "shit". I stand by my assertion
4) I made no reference to YOU, my comments were directed at the topic of your meme.
What name did I call you? BE SPECIFIC, Larry.
5) The only "language" I used was the word "shit". Stop being such a prude.
1 up, 2y,

And now, because you did not like my suggestion that you abide by common language courtesy, I am a "prude." You do know that repeatedly calling people names can result in IMGFLIP suspending your access to their forum, right?
1 up, 2y,
2 replies
And now, because you didn't like my reply to your comment and that I pointed out the fallacies of your argument, you threaten to flag me for using the word "shit".
1 up, 2y,
1 reply
Like you flagged me two days ago for asking why don't you act your age after you were told someone she was lacking in intelligence and shouldn't vote just because she just turned voting age and was asking people for advice on the process?

btw, I once got a timer for using the crying boy of that image series, sans caption.
You get away with slaughter.
1 up, 2y
No.
1 up, 2y,

Is it your intent to suggest that I am a "crying little girl?" Otherwise, why would you post that picture? It appears that you may be attempting to insult me on a personal level, rather than engage in an informed dialogue about healthcare administration. Be careful. What you infer could be as bad as a direct insult.
1 up, 2y,

I engaged and you went off on a tangent...
Where did I call you any names.
Oh, the crying girl is an imgflip image, if it offends you then take it up with imgflip...it is their template.
Have a better day, Larry.

Now you are accusing me of over-reacting. That is another negative inference. IMGFLIP did not post the image of the crying girl. You did. Are you now blaming them for your behavior and choices? You know, taking personal responsibility for your actions is a sign of strength.

What is your problem today, Larry?
Are you trying to bait me?
Stop being obtuse...I did not say that imgflip posted the image. I said that I got off their image templates.
I am not blaming anyone for anything, Larry. That is YOUR schtick, not mine.

No, Larry... I am not going to take your bait

And I haven't accused you of anything here. I said that you went off on a tangent...in other words, you deviated from the topic and went down this road.
Again, Larry, try to have a better day.

re: Your definition of tangent (above and below) appears to not apply here. I responded to your postings. At no time did I introduce the unrelated subject of wrestling.
1 up, 2y
Not my definition, Webster's
Definitions from Oxford Languages...
And the "he quickly went off on a tangent about wrestling" was the dictionaries example of how to use the word "tangent" in a sentence.

Now, go away and try to fight another day, Larry.
You have been harassing me all day and it is against the TOS to harass anyone.
0 ups, 2y,

I have simply responded to the comments you have made about me. Rather than data or facts, you start with an inappropriate label. I never suggested that the means of production be seized by the workers. Your comment?

("dicreet healthcare districts" lol...sound so, so...Communist)

My Son in Law works in sales. They have "districts." Are they Communists?

The word "Tangent," seems pejorative. And you use it to describe my behavior. I think I have simply responded to the comments you have made about me. Rather that rebut with data or facts, you suggest inappropriate behavior on my part.

If you sincerely wish me to have "better day," please stop belittling my earnest suggestions and insulting me.

I did not insult you. I asked you in the comment way up above and earlier in this thread:

"4) I made no reference to YOU, my comments were directed at the topic of your meme.
What name did I call you? BE SPECIFIC, Larry."

You chose to NOT.

Please, Larry...give it a rest.

You keep trying to bait me. You should know by now Larry that I will pick up the gauntlet.
Ask your pal, Modda about the "Crusader". He will 'splain it to you.
He accused me of being one way back in the day. I would have used the other imgflip template, but he would have flagged me for it.

Buh-bye

Crusaders, historically, were anti-Muslim. I have Muslim friends. Is your use of a Crusader image meant to be anti-Muslim? They were Europeans organized to colonize "The Holy Land," and to kill the Muslims defending it against their invasion.

This is like waving a Confederate Battle Flag in public. To many Muslims a "White Knight Crusader," symbolizes the invaders that came all the way from Europe to take their land away. A Eurocentric perspective is insensitive to their historic realities.
0 ups, 2y
Enough already, Larry. *
Quit trying to label me a racist or any other kind of “-ist”.

A white knight is someone who swoops in and defends another.

White Knight, Skeezeeks, White Knight… you accused me of being one way back when I was a noobie here.
