The Army's first openly transgender officer was indicted Thursday on charges of trying to provide American soldiers' medical information to the Russian government. A federal grand jury in Baltimore indicted Jamie Lee Henry and his wife, Anna Gabrielian, on charges of conspiracy and wrongful disclosure of individually identifiable health information. According to prosecutors, the couple met last month with an undercover FBI agent posing as a Russian diplomat and offered medical information from Fort Bragg, the home of the military's elite Delta Force.

Okay. They're considering making "her" undergo psychiatric treatment and medical treatment. It's not made clear (in the articles I found) what exactly that entails. Since (s)he still looks rather masculine, I would guess (s)he actually hasn't undergone much, if any, medical treatment in regards to their transition. It's possible the courts actually want to force them to further the process for their "mental health."

While the transgender aspect of the story makes it more titillating, I don't really think it's relevant. I think that the real issue is that for decades now we've been teaching children to hate our country, and get all surprised picachu face when our soldiers sympathize more with the enemy than our own country.

The military is now calling him/her as a him, as if a trans person couldn't do anything wrong.
