Didn’t pay that much, wasn’t lied to.

If you were, I feel bad for you. Ask for a refund?

Bold prediction. We’ll see!

1. Where does the funding come from to pay off these loans?
2. Spending bills must initiate in the Congress.
3. The president doesn’t have the authority through executive action to spend money that has not been appropriated.

Zero prediction. Just fact. he does NOT have the power. The courts may let him get away with it, but it won't mean he had the power. Just that he abused his power and was not stopped.

Nothing more.

If it’s a true abuse of power, and the courts don’t knock it down, then you know what to do.

Impeach Brandon!

If Republicans take the House, nothing would please Dark Brandon more than to be impeached for forgiving debt to millions of Americans. A true ninth-dimensional chess move. Re-exposing Republicans as the resentful plutocrats they are. Teeing up issues for the 2024 election perfectly.

Be careful!

Stealing from the American people to buy a few votes. More corrupt than anything you nuts imagined Trump did.

The comment you just made indicates your shocking ignorance of the subject. The amount of student debt that is crushing young people today is enormous. Unconscionable.

It wasn't like this back in the day. Starting out life this far in the red absolutely crushes dreams. It absolutely defers or derails entirely major life goals, like starting a business, like buying a house, like getting married, like having kids.

(An aside - Wanna increase the birth rate? Don't ban abortion - give young people good jobs, financial stability, and a reason to actually hope for the future. Then this generation will have way more births than if you start putting guns to women's wombs telling them to deliver-or-else. Anyway)

Given the scope of the student debt disaster, $10,000 debt relief - capped by income, mind you, so high-earning doctors and lawyers aren't getting it - is really the bare minimum that should be done.

Biden did the bare minimum.

Now - there should *also* be comprehensive, far-reaching reform of the student debt industry - just like there should be comprehensive reform of multiple sectors of the economy. But at this juncture, Congress as a whole - counting the Republicans, who have all but abandoned college-educated Americans, and show as much sensitivity to this issue as you do - isn't interested.

So yes, please impeach Biden over this. Nothing could more clearly show the contrast between a party that favors an educated America, and one that doesn't.

The loans were taken out by choice. These are not high interest loans. These are not from loan sharks. They are minimal payments except in the dollar amount.

The students should have had a plan for their degree and job prospects... Not naval gazing gender studies degrees or other lunacy. Those who got degrees for a real career pay off their loans. And before the "everyone goes to college" stupidity bubble, graduates then who got more mainline and unprofitable degrees in philosophy and sociology complained they couldn't get jobs. Perhaps they should have gotten a business degree instead.

Or better yet, just gotten a job and skipped college altogether. It's quite doable. More so now.

None of this "should be done" not in the slightest. Quit believing the propaganda and use your own brain. This is simply a bone thrown at the idiots who want all student debt cancelled. A pay off. No, there is no authority for the president to do this at all. If the congress voted to do it, it would still be wrong and asinine, but at least legal. Biden doing this is an overreach and stop your impeachment whining. Let's not try to see what a president can "get away with" but get someone to behave and do what is right and legal.

You segue to abortion is just ludicrous. No one has a gun to anyone's womb. Don't want to be pregnant. Don't get pregnant. Simple enough. And if you fool around and take chances, be mature enough to deal with the consequences and not look for the easy way out at the murder of a child. The correction of Roe did nothing to change abortion in America EXCEPT put it back to the states where it always should have been. Same with the imagined gay marriage right. Let states decide.

That's how this country was designed and how it works best.

So you're wrong complete on all your points. Biden's an idiot and this theft from ALL AMERICAN TAXPAYERS is wrong. And should he violate the law and need impeachment, then so be it. It's still a stronger case than the phony one levelled at Trump.

No go away, troll.

Golly man. All this rage against college students, I can’t imagine what you might feel about all the money squandered on wasteful military spending and other traditional government hobbies.

Please do write your congressman & Senator and translate that anger into an impeachment of Biden over this (of all things). Nothing would please me more.

Anyway. The “gender studies major” thing is a stereotype. I’m sure there are folks out there who majored in something you disapprove of. A lot of them end up doing just fine anyway. You must not realize how marketable a humanities degree is. Typical path: law school.

What’s more common is students who never completed their degrees because a family member got sick and they had to care for them, or they got sick themselves, or they had an unexpected pregnancy (going to become a lot more common now that Roe is gone), or they lost financial support in some way and had to take a job, or some other major life-event derailed their best-laid plans. Doesn’t mean they’re dumb, or duped, or undeserving. It means life dealt them a bad hand.

You’re on my meme bro so feel free to leave any time you like.
