Sheldon is a left winger?

I think of Sheldon as someone dedicated to reason and logic. That's not exactly prominent amongst left wingers who tend to follow wherever their emotions lead them. The world is "going to end in 12 years", etc.

1. Would he have ordered the spy balloon shot down in the waters off Alaska?

2. Now that the balloon has been - belatedly - shot down, what are the odds the Chinese will shoot down or "accidentally" collide with something of ours?

Would Sheldon be aware of this incident?

The Hainan Island incident occurred on April 1, 2001, when a United States Navy EP-3E ARIES II signals intelligence aircraft and a People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) J-8II interceptor fighter jet collided in mid-air, resulting in an international dispute between the United States and the People's Republic of China (PRC).

A collision between the EP-3 and one of the J-8s caused a PRC pilot to go missing (later presumed dead); the EP-3 was forced to make an emergency landing on Hainan without approved permission from the Chinese authorities. The 24 crew members were detained and interrogated by Chinese authorities until a statement was delivered by the United States government regarding the incident.

I really think Sheldon does count as auth-left (a competent leftist and not a feelings-based lib-left) he isn't religious, he is an atheist, and leftist atheists do claim to be the party of progress, thinking with logic and science rather than religion and traditions (which is what the auth-right does) and Sheldon is one of such atheists, he also acts smug and arrogant like a leftist. He is also for following a lot of rules including legal beauracratic work and the auth-left is most well-known for government beauracracy.
