Furries-Stream Staff Meeting Imminent (Only Owners And Moderators Allowed To Comment): | Furries-Stream Staff Meeting Imminent (Only Furries-Stream Owners And Moderators Are Allowed To Comment Upon This Post):; I happen to have come up with some really good ideas for the Furries-Stream recently, and I called this staff meeting to discuss them with you all, and to figure out whether or not these ideas would be applicable to this stream (and to also see if my fellow furry owners and moderators would be okay with doing such if they happen to be applicable). Please leave your thoughts, comments, and concerns regarding my ideas in the comments section below (adjacent to each corresponding idea). Thank you all Furries-Stream owners and moderators for your time, effort, and participation - it is very deeply appreciated :) | image tagged in simothefinlandized announcement template 4 0,furries-stream,discussion | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

IDEA #001 - I would like to make some satellite-streams for specific furry-fandom niches that are controlled by the Furries-Stream (i.e. art, music, literature, fursuiting, role-play, discussion, DIY-and-crafts, video-gaming, etc. to name but a few ideas - I will only allow exclusively SFW-oriented streams to be created, owned, and operated by the team) - if this idea is approved and these streams are created as a result, I would like to also create a directory post that consists of links to each individual stream in the post's comments, and put the link to said directory in the Furries-Stream description.

I really like this concept, but I think the randomness really helps this stream stay alive.

i'll go with it!

I do not understand this idea. Why should we have streams for certain topics when we already have this one, for all the furry topics? I also feel like this would be making more (unnecessary) work and effort. People already do post videogame furry things here, and furry crafts here, why do we need a special place for all of them?

I came up with this idea in a bid to better organize the massive surge and flow of web-content on the Furries-Stream so as to not overload the main stream with large amounts of content that will only continue to grow as more and more people join the stream. I also came up with this idea so that if someone wanted to see furry art on here, for example, and not furry music or literature, one can go to a dedicated Furries-Stream satellite-stream to see newer furry art with much more ease and in greater quantities, instead of having to go down and scroll several levels down the page in order to actively look for said furry art buried below stacks and archives of much older content. I came up with this idea with the user experience in mind, in a way.

The solution to this issue was built into the stream when it was first started. Imgflip allows you to sort by tags easily. One could just search with the art tag on the stream, and then they only see furry artwork. No scrolling necessary. The tags also allow a very wide range of specific topics to be searched within seconds. This makes mini/satellite streams functionally useless, obsolete. While I do understand your point, I don't think it makes sense when it's already a built in feature.

I see.

I did not fully think this particular idea through. It's a very good thing I ran this through with you all - I honestly wouldn't have noticed or thought of this otherwise!

Thank you, Moth!

Of course, Simo. To be clear I have no meaning to discourage you from coming up with concepts for the stream. I do enjoy coming up with and discussing ideas for the stream.

IDEA #003 - I would like to create a News-And-Updates archive for the Furries-Stream in the form of a directory-post whose link will be shared in the Furries-Stream description - this particular directory will hold all of the relevant and upcoming news-and-updates for the Furries-Stream, and will be curated and edited by the moderators and owners of the Furries-Stream as needed, with its news-and-updates to be shown for all to see. Similar in stature, I would also like to do something to fully codify the rules and regulations of the Furries-Stream so that we have a constitution-of-sorts which can be used as a reference to help guide the Furries-Stream administration in making the right decisions when we have internal team disputes over what needs to be done - this, along with the links for the News-And-Updates Archive and the Satellite-Stream Directory, will be shown in the Furries-Stream description.

IDEA #002 - I would like to limit the number of NSFW posts on the Furries-Stream by tightening the restrictions on what counts as a tolerable NSFW post. I can completely understand having a swear-word or two in the text of a meme-&-GIF post and perhaps a discussion that brings up a particularly heavy topic on here as long as we don't go overboard with it - I DO NOT understand why we have to tolerate any form of sexually-explicit, violent, objectively-derogatory, and/or other likewise forms of discerning content on here, irrespective of whether it is directly or indirectly related to such. I don't know about you, but I would do everything in my power to ensure that this stream doesn't get raided, banned, or taken down by official Imgflip administration because of something so completely preventable like this. We may be a safe-space for a great many people on Imgflip, but I will NOT tolerate this stream becoming a safe-haven for wicked and harmful scum who wish to cause mental, social, and/or physical danger and harm on here - I hope you all feel the same.

I agree with Moth totally. I feel that some specific topics such as gore should come with a warning, but really, I think yiff or cropped yiff is far worse than some blood.

I understand where you're coming from with this, but I think this is silly. Don't get me wrong, I do think we shouldn't be approving NSFW/suggestive artwork, or anything derogatory, and we don't as to abide by the imgflip TOS.

What I do not not agree with is the censoring violence. Violence is apart of art, and as an artist I value it. For example, I don't think we should be censoring an artist who puts some blood in their art. Things like gore can be used for expression, and if it's not overly exaggerated I don't see why it shouldn't be approved.

yeah gore and blood is okay

but sexual stuff i say no to

I completely understand where you are coming from, Moth, and I wholeheartedly agree with you - I'm just really worried about the excessive portrayal of violence, gore, and similar grey-area subjects on the Furries-Stream potentially getting too overbearing for many of the users on here. I'm voicing my concerns because I'm really afraid that the moderators and owners (I'm not saying anyone in particular, I'm just saying) might not take their job as owner and/or moderator too seriously in the future, and might become either too relaxed or indifferent with the filter for what goes on and what doesn't, and as a result potentially compromise the integrity of the stream. It has happened before (think of what Vairo did and almost did to the stream earlier this year), and I'll take any precautions to ensure that a similarly bad and/or worse event does not happen, considering it hurt so many people.

I feel the problem with unrelated posts goes much deeper than this. The lack of clarification with rules, and how they seem to be changed in the blink of an eye without full explanation appears to be a causation of this.

But also, may I ask what gore or violence you're talking about? To me this mainly feels like a non issue due to the lack of examples of people actually posting gore. Why do we need to enforce rules about gore if there is no gore?

I'm really worried about gore and/or violence being portrayed in very excessive and exaggerated amounts on the Stream, with my fears based primarily in the future. I know and get that a lot of people on here are teenagers, and I understand tasteful artistic depictions of combat and martial prowess, just as long as no one goes overboard with it. It's just that I'm concerned that since this kind of situation hasn't happened yet on-stream, we've kind of turned a blind eye towards the possibility of it happening and thus haven't prepared accordingly to deal Stream, should it happen, however remote the possibility may be. I'm not saying we have to double down DEFCON-style on every variable, but I do greatly advise that we prepare for the possibility of each variable coming to fruition should a push become a shove.

I completely understand your view, but I also think this also sort of useless? I feel this way partly because of the general characteristics of the furry community. I'd understand this if it were in a community based around say, rainbow 6 siege, a violent game. However the furry community is generally very wholesome. I don't understand is why we need to prepare for this particular situation since it's very unlikely, and easily resolved in seconds. Why shouldn't there be a blind eye on nothing, is what I'm saying.

we should just disapprove too nsfw stuff
