That's not always true, when I was stationed in Fla, my neighbor hired illegals contractors to do his floor, I hired a real contractor. The neighbor saved big over what I paid until his floors warped and he couldn't find the illegals who put in his floor. He hired the same contractor I did to redo his floor, he saved nothing. The same is true where I live now, we have two main groups that work the farms (unless you count family) prisoners living in the halfway house and illegals. Granted some of the prisoners are also illegals but the prisoners transitioning back into society cost less, do more and require less. The illegals want housing and pay.

The question is, how many more legit contractors would be around if they weren’t competing with the lower wage paying contractors using illegal laborers? How many workers would be getting paid more if they weren’t competing with the illegals who would work for less?
Supply and demand. It’s a myth that illegals do jobs in Americans don’t want to do. The fact is they undercut the wage and take the job away from the American. For the longest time everybody complained about jobs being sent overseas, but nobody realized all the jobs here being taken away.

You are right they are leaches and it will be much worse now that more flood in everyday.

So many of them receive government assistance, but then do unreported side gigs paying cash - cleaning houses or landscaping. They also report that they’re not married to receive benefits, but their “husband“ lives in the household. I’ve seen that lots of times. And when they go to the ER with no insurance, guess who pays for that visit through higher hospital bills.
