Money is nice, but why work hard from someone that doesn't respect you as a human?

I went to a Walmart a couple weeks ago, and they ONLY had self-checkout lanes open. If they could only find a way to get the customers to stock the shelves, too. Or skip the whole thing, and just get access to our bank accounts, and take the money whenever they want.

I avoid self check out as much as I can. Only time I do it is buying lunch in a local grocery store while at work. Even then, I would prefer not to, but they only have one lane open and six people with full carriages.

Because other people had to put up with it so you do too even if you literally can't work as hard as other people do. That just means your life isn't worth as much as theirs and you're not important enough to afford food rent and electricity and don't you dare own a phone or Netflix or you'll have no excuse for why you can't pay back you're 80k student loan that's entirely your fault to begin with despite the absolute need for it being beaten into you for your entire childhood.

Unfortunately the typical reward is losing the job to a robot or to insufficient business. The employer isn’t hiring people to provide for them but to run a profitable business, if the business prices itself out of the market it will scale back or close. No one keeps employees at a loss.

I once worked for minimum wage after my plant closed while going back to college. A district vice president came into our retail store and told me he didn't like my pants and to go buy some new ones. I told him to go f**k himself as at minimum wage I could go anywhere and make the same money he was paying me. That I am now a highly paid professional is beside the point.
