Pure coincidence that this is the first time Alaska voters used ranked-choice ballots in a general election.

Aye . . . the political fix was in and it was a BLATANT fix.

What a wonderful advertisement for the benefits of ranked-choice voting.

In reality, however, it’s all down to the fact that Palin and her other Republican opponent in the race, Begich, are each too egotistical to drop out and endorse the other.

And why would they? They were so close!

I assume if either one of these Republicans dropped out, then the other would win handily.

Will they?

Um so? Palin was massively more qualified as a former governor of that state, but racist and bigoted Alaskans went with the relatively unqualified Native-American instead . . . because virtue signaling IS leftism. Sweet!

Don’t forget this was a special election. The general election will have a higher turnout.

“Qualified” is an interesting word for Palin. Having white skin doesn’t automatically make you more qualified than a Native.

Yes, she was Governor, but she resigned midway through her term to pursue other opportunities in the Lower 48 (for which many Alaskans still resent her), and she hasn’t held elected office since 2009.

More items in the non-exhaustive list of reasons voters might not pick her: Her reality TV antics, her not being plugged into Alaska-specific issues, her showboaty personality, her abrasive White Christian Nationalist MAGA brand of politics (which only travels so far in the waters of Alaska’s unique stream of conservatism), and at this point, her *lack* of qualifications.

She lost despite raising and spending way more than the other candidates in the field. Perhaps there’s a reason why other than shouting “raaaayyyyycism”?

So, her comeback tour has failed for now. But this is just a special election. She’ll get another crack at it in November!

Who said -- or even implied -- that Palins skin tone somehow equates to qualified. She was more qualified because she's been a successful mayor and -- until leftists HOUNDED her out of office by going after her family -- she was a successful governor. Her opponent . . . had zero qualifications in comparison.

No. She walked off the job to make more money for herself and to get more face-time in front of a TV camera. And, one, assumes, to have fewer real responsibilities and to “spend more time with her family” (always a ready-made excuse).

Even if we assume that she quit because she was a snowflake in the face of criticism and investigations, what does that say about her gumption and stick-to-it-iveness? Nothing good.
