For the first time in my lifetime, Republicans are having to play defense on the abortion issue, and they are even worse at it than I thought they would be. For all the spin, misinformation, and outright lies, it's hard to carry an unwanted or medically unviable pregnancy, or to witness a close friend or family member confronting the same situation, and not connect the dots on that. But, I'll give it time. In another month or two, Republicans will be claiming that lack of reproductive choice is actually Democrats' fault because Democrats refused to work with Republicans on the issue, or some such sophistry.
