But the polar bears will have to swim more to eat the even cuter baby seals and then Greta will have to keep cutting school so there goes college,,,

From: Stone Me: The Wit and Wisdom of Keith Richards

Searching for this quote since you posted that, as I wasn't sure if it was "positive thinking" then "prayer" .... I almost gave up, then found it!

Hahaha, yup if anyone could do that, it would be Keith...omg. I actually have'nt read too many life stories about the rockstars I've idolized over the years. I figure wasting so much of my misspent youth listening to them was bad enough- uhg, and I do still listen to the old records sometimes...But I did come across this book recently. Luck Man- the autobiography by Greg Lake of ELP fame. He finished the book shortly before his death in 2016. I was not a huge fan back in the day, but I found this book fascinating. Highly recommend

More pearls from the Keith:

"The key to survival was that I paced myself. I never really overdid it. Well, I shouldn't say never; sometimes I was absolutely comatose."

I read that this was true, he didn't take just anything and was careful about amounts.

"If you're going to kick authority in the teeth, you might as well use both feet."

aye.

“A couple of these have fallen out”, he says, referring to his pearly whites.” I got the superglue out."

Ron witnessed this.

I've not read that book, just saw a review when it came out, with that quote highlighted.
I'm leary about finding out more about musicians and whatnot I like, because they oft turn out to be shitheads. I've not been able to listen to Unknown Pleasures since that Joy Division movie came out, for example, because I never knew Curtis was the shitbag central to the love triangle he killed himself over. And I bought that album in 79, possibly when he was still alive. Plus that movie was a tad boring and overated. Lots of him mumbling about his sappy life and being a total knob.

brb, I'm looking something up, and looks like I hit gold.

wOw, can't believe I found this and others, I've been searching, at least twice in recent years, but couldn't find this graffitti masterpiece.

This is from what was Rice Stadium in Pelham Bay Park. It was a massive hangout for local youth getting drunk on weekends, but I was too young to go there before it got torn down round the mid 80s or so. I lived close enough to walk there, but in a diff neighborhood, wasn't like I could just buzz by for a peak.
It looked way bigger IRL, and as you can see, they got the ELP logo down exact, not easy trick given the tiers.

The statue was all painted up too, with his scro painted on in purple and blue. Friggin hilarous. It's quite tall, so that took some doing.

Gosh, I'mmo get misty,,,

Nice! Those are great! These days, I'm not a fan of Graffiti, but there's always exceptions- like these... I especially like the "Yes", since I've always been a big fan. In a town near where I grew up, there was an old school probably built around the turn of the 20th century. To mark the school-yard boundary there was once a fence that was anchored by at least 11 concrete pylons that stood about 5 feet tall and were spaced about 10 feet apart. Over the decades, the wooden parts of fence rotted away, leaving only the spaced pylons. Sometime during the late '70s, kids applied a single appropriately-sized letter to each pylon, so from a distance one would see: L E. D. Z. E. P. P. E. L. I. N.- Even more amazing was that authorities allowed it to remain for many years. 🤘
