Um, what? Churches pay taxes too, or at least my church does. Where in the US do they not pay taxes and why? I live in Georgia so you can cross that off your list

Churches are generally tax exempt tho.
Is there another function yours serves as well?

I don’t recall, but then again I’m not a Deacon or Elder (obviously) so idk.

FUN FACT: Remember that bit about Separation of how Church and State is NOT what the First Amendment is about, that it was actually intended to PROTECT state religions? State Churches actually collected taxes back then, and the 1A protected this as well.
