Some claim this isn’t her fault because she had no idea that it would turn out this way.

But the thing is, eventually the site mods would be tired of all the Arkhums, and they were going to step in no matter how the Arkhum happened. One arkhum was going to push the site mods over the edge, and this was the one. Especially since mods had already taken measures to stop them, and she found a way around it. She should have known that.

Site mods don’t know the stream like regular users do. They’re handing out mod position to everyone that asks for it without any verification whether they use the stream, had mod on the stream before, or even like the stream.

Not sure I get your point about "had mod on the stream before".

Every single Moderator and Owner in the history of this stream started moderating on this stream having no moderation history on this stream. When you started moderating on this stream, you didn't have "mod on the stream before".

When everyone gets their mod unfairly taken away due to an Arkhum, it’s a good idea to make sure that everyone who was a mod beforehand gets it back. That should absolutely be the top priority when restoring the stream instead of just giving it out to people that ask for it.

Everyone? What about users with a history of breaking the Terms of Use? Why would the new Stream Owners invite all of them no questions asked?

Maybe we know this stream better than you presume. I'm not exactly new here, neither are the other owners.

I can't change the past. Prior MSmg ownership teams have been destroyed from the inside. Happy to help the stream recover again, but you should expect some bumps along the way and the approach to be a little different this time.

Because you invited a bunch of other people with no questions asked. That’s what I was talking about in the first place. At least people who were mods before this have some level of experience and competence compared to the average Joe.

But that is a fair thing to bring up. Just because someone is mod doesn’t mean they deserve it. And to be fair, there was an overabundance of mods before the arkhum who never did anything with it. But doing nothing with your mod status is much more preferable than abusing it at the expense of other users, and that will almost certainly happen when you invite in literally anyone who asks.

When you say "you" do you mean me or the new ownership team as a unit?

Every user I've invited (it's actually not that many) has either:
1) been asked questions
2) had their moderation history reviewed
3) been a long term user I'm familiar with.

or some combination thereof.

Pretty sure every user I've invited had been mod on this stream before I invited them. You can check that.

I’m also glad that you’re stopping mod abuse when we let you know about it.

All I’m suggesting with this conversation is a way to try and stop it from happening as often in the first place.

I check the stream moderations occasionally, take action as I think is appropriate. That's not new but is a little more often and more involved now that I'm Temporary Owner.
