But the abortion issue will simply have to be settled in each state. If the people believe their representatives are in the wrong, they'll have to elect different ones.
And each of those representatives should exercise good judgement amid all the noise from lobbyists, special interest groups, deranged people, legitimately concerned citizens, and everything else that's happening.
State-wide referendums would certainly be a good way to go, with the result being a clearer message from the people. But again, that's something that will have to be set up within each state.
Yeah, it's messy now. But ultimately the result should be something that's decided by voters.
