My point is, whatever YOU like that is done on the national level, the IRS collects the money for it. Paying for the military and caring for Veterans is just the biggest piece, and something that the people who complain about taxes often agree is important.

Personally, I think making sure that American babies are growing up with housing, food, safe neighborhoods and a good education is tremendously important. I just didn't expect to find a lot of support for that on this stream. Oh, and it's also less than 1/3 of what we're spending on the military, so a much smaller slice of your taxes.
