My guy is a kenku wizard called gecko who was the son of a kenku shopkeeper but always dreamt of using the weapons and spell books that his father sold. An orc raid destroyed his village and he barely escaped with his life. He picked up a few weapons and a spell book and set out to avenge his bird homies. Eventually he met a barbarian dwarf called rurik and they became friends with gecko using hand symbols to communicate because he can't repeat words properly.

A emerald-topaz Dragonborn names Vorsashi
(Background) He is 2 types because he was born in a overlapping area of regional effects from a Emerald Dragon, who lives in a abandoned port, and a Topaz Dragon whose lair is on a sea-side cliff. He reads a lot and learned his first spell from ‘borrowing’ a book from a elder in his clan.
So anyways, a EBD shows up that once was the Topaz dragon with like 20 mind flayers with it, and then it attacks his clan. Vorsashi jumped of a cliff and casts Feather Fall on himself, surviving the landing.

He fought in the Revolutionary war, War of 1812, and Civil War and lived in America for a century.
He fought in WWI and afterward moved to Finland, Fought in Winter War, and moved back to America then fought in WWII in the Marines and was drafted to the Vietnam war and afterward found magical transport to a planet called Varros. Varros was destroyed by Astral Elves and that is where I am in the campaign.

uh. It's fine. But uh. Question. How does the elf thing work out on regular plain old middle earth?

A kenku ranger who spies for a living and was strapped for cash and helped on our campaign (there's a more in-depth backstory but I don't feel like typing it out lol) my first and only character and my favorite species.

Kenkus are awesome. You knew that they can only speak by mimicking other people speaking, right? Man, I would've wanted to see that in action.

cool, that clears some things up

My first one, half-elf rogue monk, dad (human) died of plague, mom ran away (probably because elves don't really care for such things with their HUGE lifespan) and raised by monks, but likes to do more ninja stuff. He's also kind of cursed by the gem embedded in his favorite weapon, meaning that he tends to turn into a vengeful psychopath during battle sometimes. But other times he's more of a cheerful psychopath. He's the first character I ever made.

Second one is a Fire genasi Artificer rogue (I like rogues) and he was born with only one arm, and just fire shooting out of the stump where his left arm is supposed to be. Some high level artificer mastersmith made him one of their mechanical battle arm prosthetics that they have (fine tuning the reasoning of that one) To channel that fire energy into magical energy instead. And he does parkour.

TLDR:
Character 1: Half-elf ninja
Character 2: Steampunk Fire dude engineer that does amateur parkour

I love Genasi and that is an incredible backstory.
