the legacy media have failed to report on it in detail.

https://genspect.org/binding-and-tucking-self-harm-101/

"It is important to spread awareness of a male version of this practice – genital tucking"

"Is it any wonder that social transition (adopting a new name and the pronouns, dress, and hairstyle of the opposite sex), which often involves tucking or binding, is known to increase the chance of young people (minors) going on to medical transition down the road?"

i should clarify that i am not advocating for very young children to transition. teens 16 & up, however, should have that choice.

hunter is an affiliate of genspect, as seen by him retweeting them recently.

https://www.flgov.com/2022/06/17/governor-ron-desantis-appoints-four-to-the-board-of-medicine/
he is also on Florida's board of medicine, appointed by DeSantis

https://floridaphoenix.com/2022/07/11/state-advancing-medicaid-ban-on-gender-affirming-care-for-transgender-people/
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/desantis-moves-ban-transition-care-transgender-youth-medicaid-recipien-rcna31736
the furthest the news goes in on this is showcasing the efforts desantis is pushing to ban healthcare for trans individuals of any age.

this confirms my suspicions that desantis is the greater right wing never cared for children. by targeting trans individuals for things they didn't do, they allow real pedophiles to get away with real crimes

Thanks for the links. Yeah, I never heard trans therapy was banned for adults as well, that's not right. If an adult wants the treatments they and their doctor agree would be best for them, they should be able to get that treatment. Now I can gripe about a poor person getting access to Medicaid while I'm stuck on terrible private insurance, but I know you and I are on the same page when it comes to universal healthcare. I think the only point I disagree with you on is that I think 18 would be the appropriate age to become eligible to make that decision to transition, which is honestly small potatoes to the point you're making.

no problem. always open to doing research when offered the challenge :)

"Yeah, I never heard trans therapy was banned for adults as well, that's not right. If an adult wants the treatments they and their doctor agree would be best for them, they should be able to get that treatment"

glad we agree on these things :D
i've always appreciated being on good terms with a moderate like you. if the conservatives and republican party were more moderate, i'd probably find more reasons to vote for them.

that being said, it concerns me that the right are focusing on groomers to this extent like nothing seen before, yet not actually doing anything to fight them. ron desantis, donald trump, and even people with power to do so like ted cruz, can talk the talk but fail to walk the walk; as is the case with the ghislaine maxwell trial withholding the names of epstein's clients.

this article is interesting, since it talks about how florida's state police were cleared of charges against them involving jeffrey epstein, with desantis launching the investigation. found it by googling "ron desantis ghislaine maxwell"
https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/national-international/florida-authorities-no-evidence-of-criminal-activity-in-states-handling-of-epstein-investigation/2506755/

"Gov. Ron DeSantis had ordered the investigation in August 2019, just days before Epstein killed himself at a federal jail in New York City."
(about epstein killing himself, NBC's words. /not mine/)

can't say this confirms desantis was in on it, since jeffrey epstein was extremely rich and him visiting florida would've been lucrative for any politician.

as a result of the right's decisions, some people say that by the false groomer actions and the denial of healthcare that it's leading to a trans genocide, which i'm personally split on... is that actually possible, or is it sensationalization?

As for the trans genocide thing, I think it's a bit overblown but not completely untrue. I think we need to remember that as far as LGBTQ rights are concerned, we are in the most tolerant time for them in possibly all of history, there has never been a better time to be an LGBTQ individual than now. There's still some hurdles as trans rights are still an issue that affects a minuscule portion of the population and they've only reached mainstream status very recently, but I think once the technology gets good enough that true transition surgeries that give people the sexual functions of the sex they wish to transition to can occur, the whole transgender debate becomes moot.

Possibly India, China, Japan, Palau, the Americas before European invasion, Babylon temple preists, even throughout Africa where people today claim homosexuality was a colonial import, it turns out like basically almost everywhere else on the planet, homophobia was the import.

Contrary to popular Western notions, planet earth was NOT created by Western European Gods in the 15th Century, and their role as White Messiah redeeming everyone else from the very practices they themselves introduced is really truly aborable. Five centuries they said something is a sin, and now they get credited for reversing that trend in the last five decades, well, six.

Belief is irrelevant. Facts are facts.

I figured you were kidding, spoofing someone else's meme!

You really haven't heard of these, India's Hijra at least, by the Ganges, Hinduism's third gender?

The men in the other post are Wodaabe, who do their hair and makeup to flirt with the ladies,,,

Both of these have been shown planty a time on everything from National Geographic to television, especially PBS to Discovery when they actually had science instead whatever glib reality show nonsense they feature today.

The proscription against homosexuality isn't, it's actually against men with men, hence why nothing is said about it and women in the Bible. Apparently it was a Judean reaction to Babylonian temple preists/prostitutes who could be female but also included males done up as women. Thus the same deal with wearing of makeup.
Also there may be a bit of mistranslation involved, as Leviticus may have actually have been referring to adult men and boys, rather than just men.

Rome, as FakeMoustache mentioned, as well as Greece, were well known for being rather open to quite a lot of things, including homosexuality, even some rulers being rather open about it, as in China and throughout Africa, etc, back in the day.

Men who dressed and acted as women were an accepted part of pre-Colonial Americas, and still today in Palua such men are held in high regard in religion and with the ruing elite. That practice, however, is beginning to wane due to the influence of Christianity.

I don't really know Ancient Rome's views on homosexuality, but early 20th century Germany? Yeah, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say they weren't very LGBTQ friendly.

"As for the trans genocide thing, I think it's a bit overblown but not completely untrue"

whether the people will allow it to happen is the question. however, given that the supreme court will likely rule against the people in the case of moore v. harper, i'm convinced that the country won't be of the people, by the people, or for the people anymore

The feeling is mutual, I always enjoy our interactions. You're a smart individual and you always bring your receipts to the table and discuss the issues in good faith without the vile that almost everyone, myself included, seems to bring to the table. I think there's hope for the Republican party becoming more moderate, especially as the boomers age out. I was a former Democrat, even putting in volunteer work for Democrats back in 2012, and I feel way more at home in today's Republican Party than I would if I remained a Democrat. That's considering I haven't really changed my positions in the past 10 years except for a couple issues such as firearms and abortion.

I do think there's cause for concern when it comes to teachers and what they're teaching kids, especially involving LGBTQ issues. The way I see it, the parents have every right to be involved in their child's education and that means being kept in the loop about what's being taught. They also have a right to know what is happening with their child, such as a child's desire to transition or not. That's what people like myself are focused on, although there are examples of LGBTQ and kids that I would absolutely consider grooming, such as that DesmondIsAmazing kid stripping for a bunch of adults or the child drag performer QueenLactacia posing with an almost completely naked man in drag. I won't say they represent LGBTQ as a whole since they don't, but I have noticed that people on the left don't call it out and condemn it and it looks like they're covering for actual groomers.

Oh boy, Epstein, there is so much to unpack there. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I absolutely refuse to believe Epstein killed himself with what was available for him to use. I think it's very likely someone killed him or gave him the means to kill himself and covered it up. I mean what are the odds that the cameras in his cell were out and the guards weren't paying attention when possibly the most high profile criminal ever caught since Al Capone just happened to off himself? What Maxwell got for sentence was a f**king joke, I personally think running a sex trafficking ring for the world's elites should at least earn you the equivalent of a life sentence. Hopefully 4Chan or some hacker group gets their hands on that client list and leaks it, because I think we all could stand to lock up a few of these criminals.

thank you :)

"The way I see it, the parents have every right to be involved in their child's education and that means being kept in the loop about what's being taught"

that sounds reasonable at first, but i don't think it's our politicians who should be orchestrating parent-teacher relations. already we're seeing lgbtq teachers being forced to hide who they are as people to make the "don't say gay" bill work.

"Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I absolutely refuse to believe Epstein killed himself with what was available for him to use"

yeah, we're on the same page there. i have this driving suspicion that trump had something to do with its coverup, since he was president back then, and i doubt the president wouldn't have had say on what happened to epstein.

"Hopefully 4Chan or some hacker group gets their hands on that client list and leaks it"

it'd be great if we got the list on somewhere like Open Secrets or WikiLeaks, that's for sure :)

"While I do see your point, I don't think parents should necessarily be allowed to control the curricula, especially since a lot of parents are very ignorant about a lot of issues related to things like science and even history."

If it's taxpayer funded, the taxpayer deserves every right to have their voices heard and that applies to the curriculum as well. Now I personally am fine with teaching science and history, but elementary school kids don't need to be taught LGBTQ sex ed behind their parents' backs. The parents have a right to know what their kids are being taught, if you're going to push back on that, it just means more and more people are going to opt for alternatives like homeschooling where the parents for the most part control the curriculum.

"I would disagree here, especially if the child would potentially be in danger if their parents find out something like that. There have been cases of kids kicked out of their home after their parents found out they were gay or transgender. Older children especially, have a right to keep that secret, IMO."

The parents have a right to know what's going on with their child. Just because there are some bad parents that would shun their child if they found out they were LGBTQ doesn't negate the fact that the parents as that child's legal guardian have a right to know. And do you really think living with strict religious parents with that secret over your head is a healthy thing for a child to endure? I would imagine being honest with yourself and risking the wrath of your parents is the far healthier alternative to living a lie. And if your parents kick you out? It's not like you're forced to live on the streets, there's options for you out there.

"It certainly looks suspicious, but them being negligent is definitely possible. Just think of all the people who are sexually assaulted in prison on a regular basis, and the guards don't always see it happen. Same with drug deals."

Nah, I'm not inclined to believe that, especially considering so many of the world's elites would have faced criminal charges if Epstein squealed. Negligence does occur in the US prison system, but so many things would have to have gone wrong in order for Epstein to commit suicide, not to mention he just got off suicide watch and he had paper sheets for his bed so he couldn't hang himself.

The thing is that they're not old enough to make that decision on their own before 18 as they're not legally adults, and I think there's a big legal quagmire if parents get their kids transitioned and then the kid decides the transition was the wrong decision. The best path I see forward would be to wait until 18 and then the kid can decide for themselves what they want to do. I think the technology is still in its infancy and that maybe in a hundred years or so, we could see the technology to truly change genders as in to be able to perform the sexual functions of the sex you wish to transition to, in which the whole transgender argument becomes moot.
