Thank you for being one of the good ones. As is often said, I like your Christ, it's your Christians I can't stand.

It's surprisingly easy to make friends with differing belief systems if you just recognize each other as equally valid.

I think it was Ghandi that said that. And it is easy to make friends when you realize that someone else being different doesn’t take anything away from yourself. Whether my neighbor worships one God or a dozen gods, in neither picks my pockets nor breaks my leg. And the same goes for sexual identity, skin color, etc. There are more folks that support LGBTQ in America than don’t. Remember the haters are the minority. And I’m a 47 year old white male with a wife and four kids. And I should be right in the middle of the hate demographic according to Fox News. But I’m not.

I'm 30 with a wife and 2 kids and live in Texas and I understand completely. We're both LGBTQ, but we ended up in monogamous hetero relationship anyway and are perfectly happy with it. That ends up getting us hate from both sides sometimes. Also love your un.

It breaks my heart to watch folks that claim to be Christian use the Bible as an excuse to hate. It’s no different than what ISIS or the taliban have done with Islam. I live just outside Chicago in the suburbs and we have a small community of LGBTQ here. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of any hate or violence against them. We go to parades together, concerts in the park , etc. I honestly believe that if someone were to act out towards our gay neighbors they would be immediately put down by the rest of us. No room for that in this little town.

Just have faith that it will get better. The moral arc of the universe always bends towards the good.

You are absolutely amazing and I hope you have a fantastic day every day! I wish my fellow Christians were as kind as you.

I wish more folks could drop the hate long enough to get to know the person they’re hating. Unfortunately, the haters have had five years now of being told it’s ok to hate others. It’s gonna take time to repair that damage

The folks that want to hate on others are going to have some explaining to do one day. One for their hate, two, for worshiping a false idol. You know, Cheeto jesus.

In my Bible it actually says that “a man should not sleep with a man as with a woman”. Now, I REALLY don’t be leave that, but I sort of fell like it’s sort of connected.

It also say to treat people the way you want to be treated and above all is to love each other. And there’s plenty in there about not hating folks for any reason. Again, if God is unhappy with what folks do, He will deal with it. He doesn’t expect or want us to hate each other for any reason. Like ISIS, the Christian Bible is also twisted and warped by hate filled folks to have an excuse to torment others. It’s wrong. And consider this, gay couples are responsible for adopting many kids and providing them good loving homes. And it clearly says to protect the children. So there’s some parts that contradict others. It’s up to us to decide what the overall message is. And it certainly isn’t to hate anyone for anything.

It's a mistranslation. What it really says is "A man shall not sleep with a boy as he would a woman."
It was mistranslated in the Middle Ages when only the priests knew Latin, and would translate for the people at mass. The priests could essentially say whatever they wanted and the people would believe what they said.
Martin Luther had it right, since he knew Latin and literally read the Bible in Latin, saw everything that the church f**ked up, and called them out on it with his 95 Theses.

Isn't there a line in the New Testament somewhere that says "Love your enemies as you would love yourself"
