Well, better do something quick because the disastrous presidencies of two Republican popular-vote losers make me doubtful that Americans would tolerate a third.

If Trump runs again and loses by, say, 5 million popular votes, but somehow squeaks out an Electoral College win, there’s little doubt in my mind this would precipitate a constitutional crisis.

Huh, I thought more states had ratified it than this. They are all blue states with a couple purple states having pending applications.

I live in a deep-red state, which was once famous as a national bellweather, but which in the age of Trumpism has begun voting like the Deep South.

Chances of getting something like this ratified in my state are about as slim as getting the Governor to change his mind and un-abolish abortion (which he was ready with a pen to do within minutes of the Dobbs decision).

The NPVIC states do appear to be a rough guide for how America might break apart in the event of a disputed election.
