Conservatives don't seem to have any consistency on this issue. One of them I listen to on the radio says he's all about originalism and going by the specific wording in the constitution, and then he'll turn around and say that legalizing same-sex marriage is unbiblical, or legalizing abortion is unbiblical. The constitution doesn't say anything about what's biblical or unbiblical, so he clearly puts his religious beliefs above what the constitution actually says.

This is the biggest argument I have with religious people. I keep telling them that the founding fathers were clear. Religion and the government should be forever separate.

I think, though I haven’t really seen it, that a Christian could make the argument that the United states constitution/laws are based on the Bible, but to an extent. Could say something like “United States law is based on all of the laws of God that pertain to something that could cause harm to someone else, things that break Gods law but that only hurt the person committing the action is left up to God himself for justice”.
