So, what "specific thing" do you claim the Confederate flag represents?
Like any other symbol, it's meaning is different for different groups. For some it's simply southern pride. (I.e. the land of fried chicken, grits, and BBQ). I admit it's wise to be aware of others interpretation of the symbol, and act accordingly. The Swastika is actually a Hindu symbol representing the balance in nature, but it's not used (at least not in the U.S.) because we know how many will interpret it
