I love how when it comes to #MeToo, it was all, “these bitches are out for fame! False rape accusations everywhere!!”
Now it’s, oh, you don’t want to execute rapists? For shame.
Every rape accusation has a bit of uncertainty around it, if we’re being honest. He-said, she-said is extremely common. That doesn’t mean she’s lying necessarily. But I’m of the opinion we shouldn’t put anyone to *death* unless their guilt is a virtual certainty.
That would be the case with mass shooters caught red-handed. But when it’s a private encounter, and there are no dead bodies, things are murkier.
Now, if there were photo evidence that someone had abused 100 young children, that would rise to that level of virtual certainty of guilt. A single accusation of rape from a single adult woman, however, likely wouldn’t be.
