Congress has the tools to act. It always has the tools to act. The only question: Does it have the political will?

Congress has the tools to act. It always has the tools to act. The only question: Does it have the political will? | Undoing 50 years of its own precedent, SCOTUS has declared that abortion is no longer a constitutional right. However, the federal government has other tools to entice states into adopting policies that will protect women's rights. Similar to the Uniform Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984, Congress could condition states' access to a funding source (say, Medicare and/or Medicaid funding) upon citizens' access to reproductive care. Want to undo fundamental rights in your state? Then you'll have to pay for it. | image tagged in uniform minimum drinking age act,abortion,pro-choice,government,laws,scotus | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

"Does it have the political will?"

no lol. they'll continue to manipulate us until we vote this november. then they'll deliberately make everything shit again come 2024, so they can get democrat candidate corporate-approved white bread against republican candidate ronald babykiller.
democrats and republicans are no longer the answer. it's the american people vs the corporations and the government that bends to their will.

Bernie Sanders promotes a serious agenda for rebalancing the American economy toward the middle class. The Democratic Party is moving his way and still needs to catch up with him. Maybe not this election or next election, but in 20 years or so, it’s likely the Democratic Party will be a fully progressive outfit. In the meantime, voting against Republicans will limit the damage.

I’m not sympathetic to the idea that both parties are the same. Today furnished a perfect example of how they are not.

until the dems learn to endorse sanders and the like, i still consider repubs and demos are the same. the only advantage dems have is candidates like sanders

if it was a constitutional right it wouldnt be banned in some states. this new ban really shoudlnt be a problem anyway. if you dont want a kid, dont get pregnant. it is that simple.

Can you account for these situations

—Women who aren’t trying to become pregnant, are on birth control, but get pregnant anyway.
—Women who are raped,
—Women who are in a relationship, want to get pregnant, but their husband/partner leaves them a couple months into the pregnancy.

Abortion isn’t all about “harlots” being “promiscuous,” sorry.
