Why would they? Anyone that understands American politics knows that the party of the president loses seats every midterm. It’s a historic fact. It’s only NOT happened twice in the last few decades. So no, these hearings aren’t about midterms, the results of the midterms will not be based on the hearings. The gop taking seats is just the way our system works, it’s expected.
