And parents explained to their kids what Bugs was doing was a gag to fool Elmer and doing that in real life is something you never do. . .the same as when Bugs tricked Elmer into shooting Daffy's face off. . .parents then told their kids it was fake, made up, and you never do that in real life.

If only real life drag was acceptable back then.
