I completely agree with you one of my rps was removed from the stream because of this post

I'm fine with using another character (every now and then) but when you use them so much that it starts to seem like you just use them as your own OC and nothing else, that's when it crosses the line for me.
(I'm bad at explaining so forgive me if you don't understand)

Using a charecter for roleplaying is not using them as your own Oc. Oc stands for Original character.

some people, do use these characters and do use them as an OC.
example. I was scrolling through this stream yesterday with Chris casually making jokes about some rps and can't across an older rp, about stranger things. and the owner of that RP (who has since deleted) claimed El (I think was his name I never watched stranger things) as his OC saying "El will be my OC"

But that was an older rp when we could do that, before the rule was added. It really should not be that big of a deal. If I wanted to use Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul as one of my mains then I could do that. I'm not saying its my character. Plus If I drew if then it is mine.

just because you draw the character doesn't mean you own them. it's called fanart.

Are we allowed to use canon characters from a fandom if we don’t claim them as OUR character, like how I have that bluestar roleplay and how Deku Simp used canon MHA characters without claiming them as his. I have some more questions. Are we allowed to use canon characters that are related to canon characters and are we allowed to use reincarnations of dead canon characters?

Problem is, I only have 3 ocs and I was going to use a character from someone else who’s intertwined with my main oc’s lore

if they gave you permission that's okay. but I'm taking about using characters from Fandoma line MHA or demon slayer or anything like that

Would it disobey the rules to just make the rp with that character?

update: I did this to advertise creativity. I understand not everyone can draw, or things like that.
but that's what picture of other creative media sources are for.
every once in a while it's okay to use characters from a fandom. but the way 90% of you are doing it is "let me use this character in a plot that has nothing to do with that character" instead of doing an RP that has to do with the universe they are from.
if you have a problem with this (which I know lots of you do) then please find some way to deal with it, or don't.
if you support this, (which I'm sure an equal amount of you do) please don't harass anyone is they violate this rule. and don't harass any mods that let this stuff slip. it's more stressful than you guys think to moderate/own a stream that has this many followers. especially for me, I was gone for a long time and when I came back this stream gained almost double in followers. while I was excited I was also stressed. and I'm sure a few of the mods are as well.
so please. don't harass anyone, and don't turn this into a big deal. just flag the image if it violates anything.
I dunno who made the rule about stealing art for this stream. but it was either Luni, or Jade, and I respect both of them, and I trust what they say, and I'll enforce what they say.

I think it’s okay to use characters a person does not own in RPs, as long as they know enough about the character to RP as them. The only thing that is a problem with is when people steal art.

If the character isn’t theirs, then they should be able to use it as long as they say it isn’t theirs. (Sometimes it’s kind of obvious that it isn’t theirs. As long as they don’t claim the character itself is theirs, I think it should be somewhat allowed, like someone from a tv show or book perchance.)
