I may be the only tickled by these "ancestry" website commercials that show people finding out who their grandparents are or that their grandfather fought in WWII. I'm like "umm...just call your grandpa and ask him". Everyone I know knows at least the general regions / countries of their ancestry, but I don't quite understand this fairly recent obsession with identity.
People want, at the same time, to identify as something and also NOT be identified as something.
