Without a doubt, someone with a gun who wants to do harm or commit a crime will use that gun. So make it illegal for every person who would NEVER use a gun to do harm or commit a crime to own a gun.

Without a doubt, someone with a car who drinks who intentionally or unintentionally get drunks, and drives will hurt or kill with that car. So make it illegal for every person who would NEVER get drunk and drive to own a car.

Without a doubt, someone with a knife who wants to do harm or commit a crime will use that knife. So make it illegal for every person who would NEVER use a knife to do harm or commit a crime to own a knife.

Without a doubt, someone will train dogs to be vicious to guard the location or person used to sell drugs. So make it illegal for every person who would NEVER train a dog to be vicious to own a dog.

None of these these ideas, is practical and they wouldn't accomplish the objective intended. In reality, the object used to do harm is not the problem. The person using the object is the problem. Identify ill people or just plain sociopathic people and closely monitor their actions to help prevent them from ever breaking the law. Also, lock up people after the first conviction for harming others and throw away the key. It's the same ciminals who commit the crimes over and over again. Not willing to do this? Then you're not serious about solving the problem. You're just emotionally reacting and nothing will change.

What you need to advocate is a Constitutional Amendment to change the 2nd Amendment. That is what other countries do not have. Absent that you are advocating for overthrow of the government based on the constitution. You don't get to pick and choose those you like and enforce those only. There is a way to change the constitution IF the majority of the people or their representatives wish to do so. Use it.

You mean the second amendment designed to fight the British when America didn't have a strong army? Facts that conservative ignore so they can perpetuate this rampant terrorism?

Again, there is a mechanism to change that. Use it. Why is that so hard to understand? Oh, you say you can't get enough citizens to support that? That's the way it is intended so knee jerk whims don't destroy the basis of our government and the restrictions placed upon it. If enough people could be found to outlaw liquior, there should be enough to outlaw guns IF THE PEOPLE REALLY WANT IT CHANGED.

Martha Washington had to donate the family silver to be melted to make the first US coins, and the Mexican peso was legal tender in the US till 1857 because we still couldn't afford to make enough for ourselves.
