A LITTLE GUN HISTORY

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Would any of these minorities have survived if they'd held onto their guns? No. They were out numbered and often just starved out (not actually rounded up.) But would they gave been able to make the commies and muslims think twice about genocide?

So now kevlar is a "full auto military style rifle firing fully semiautomatic 9mm bumpstocks?" Get your head outta the sand.

We’ve obviously given up as a society on actually stopping mass shootings before they start, so the best we can do, it seems, is mitigation.

Take away body armor from these mass-murdering freaks, and the security guards and regular-duty officers that we in theory are paying to protect us will actually have a better chance at succeeding, and stopping more havoc before the SWAT team gets there.

Body armor is a force-multiplier for gangsters and thugs and lone-wolf terrorists. And unlike guns, it’s not an “arm” within the meaning of the 2nd Amendment.

Or is it? I guess this very fair & balanced SCOTUS will one day soon have to decide!

There’s been a lot of focus lately on “red-flag” laws. The idea is that we can somehow pinpoint who is going to commit a mass shooting before they actually do it.

Problem is, there are 10,000 (at least) edgy/controversial/depressed social media posts for every one mass shooter. It’s a hopeless idea, IMO, a distraction from the bottom-line issue of guns.

Or maybe it’s not, and the “Department of Precrime” somehow manages to keep us safe, while avoiding anything more than a minimal intrusion on civil liberties & free speech. Count me skeptical.

We can have a society with guns readily available to every kind of nutbag, or we can have a much safer society along the lines of every other rich country that’s figured this out. Can’t have both.

To be honest, we’ve already made our choice.

If they enforce current laws/standards and communicate between departments better, results or chances to pull off pre crime without full blown aid would be much higher. Not surprised a former fbi employee was in communication with both Buffalo and the Texas shooter

Carry on. The left destroying their own gun control arguments by adding kevlar [which currently has one fewer lifetime confirmed kill than Alec Baldwin's single action army] to their "weapons of war" list, does my work for me. Hell, it'd be funny if it wasn't so sad.

Kevlar is a force-multiplier. I linked you an article where the mass shooter used it to overpower a security guard and continue his killing spree. It's not hard to understand.

Continue making my arguments for me.
My number one assurance that your globalist gun grabs will fail is the left's willingness to destroy their own arguments to keep from deviating from [current thing.]

Ah yes, globalist elites like @JaneotN, who hail from that frozen tundra to our north where half the population slaves away in gulags and the other half beg at breadlines.

Just let them keep talking, their arguments destroy themselves

Canada's response to US shootings: thank atheist jeebus we don't have that problem! Now we're gonna pass a total handgun ban anyway, because gun laws have nothing to do with stopping crime and everything to do with control!
The secand Justine Trudeau tried to latch onto US news to further his leftist disarmament agenda, he killed all your guns bills because now you can't say you're only coming for "some" of your guns.
But continue. As long as we know we can't trust any "compromise" on firearms from people who claim to not know what firearms are, every word out of your mouth is 1 more rifle sold to one more real American.

I’m less concerned about the 50-year-old sports Hunter, FOX News-watching diehard who goes out and buys his 30th gun after seeing Tucker Carlson rail against the remote possibility that Democrats might, finally, maybe, possibly pass something about guns for the first time in 30 years, than I am about the socially reclusive 17-year-old counting down the days until he turns 18 so he can buy his very *first* gun, so that he can go out and commit suicide-by-cop by way of a dozen elementary schoolers.

Wouldn’t it be great if Democrats could think up some kind of bill that left the first kind of gun owner alone, while focusing on keeping guns out of the hands of the second kind?

Oh wait! They did!

They want to pass a gun restricting gun sales to that little depressed kiddo until he turns 21, at which point he’ll have 3 more years of life experience under his belt, and be (hopefully) less inclined to go the suicide-by-cop route.

The problem with y’all is you lump every kind of potential gun owner together and protect them all with equal fervor.

Muh freedom isn’t free! No, it’s not, but if you oppose even the smallest most modest incremental common-sense reforms with the vigor that you’d oppose a Maoist takeover, then you’re not looking at it in a nuanced way.

As long as the left lies about guns, no one will take them seriously. If you pretend you actually believe that an ar15 is a machinegun and kevlar is a weapon of war and thousands of kids are slaughtered with military style weapons everyday, we know you're lying. And if you're lying about what you think a gun is, you're lying about how many you're gonna take.
I'd support a total across the board ban on semi autos as long as it included no exceptions for cops and Hollywood bodyguards (wait, I thought the only purpose of an uzi was to slaughter kids? Why does Hollywood need em?) Take us back to the old west. Lemmie tell you, crime wouldn't go down, but it'd sure be fun to switch back to lever guns.
But no Republican can do that as long as we know 20 secands after you ban semi autos, you'll simply declare that an 1873 Winchester is an "cop killing assault shotgun" since it holds more than 2 rounds of .44 special.
So keep selling guns for me.

Democrats aren’t the ones who have lost their minds on guns, Republicans are. Don’t take it from me, take it from Sen. Goldwater.

AR-15s and their earlier predecessors had no place in the home arsenals of responsible gunowners from the idyllic times of yore that conservatives love to idolize. This worshipping of more and more firepower is a product of thoroughly modern American greed and one-upsmanship.

Lever-action rifles are great fun to shoot. Shotguns have a place in the arsenal, certainly in bear country. Handguns are constitutionally protected as tools of self-defense.

AR-15s and the like? Nope, they are weapons of war. You’ll never make them compatible with civilian life.
