The Second Amendment talks about a “well-regulated militia.” The Uvalde shooter and these other sickos are without question *not* a part of any militia, not part of any defensive fighting unit that could competently defend the country. They are in fact traitors who, by attacking innocent children, who are our future, viciously attack the country itself. They aren’t entitled to Constitutional protection.

Gun culture in America isn’t going anywhere. But even the strongest conservatives have realized we need to make a little more effort to keep the heaviest firepower out of the sickest hands.

To fail to do this is to turn the Constitution into a suicide pact. I don’t believe the Founders could have possibly intended it to be so. They believed they were writing a document that would endure. Let’s keep it that way.

The federal government should not have the power to infringe the right of the people to keep and bear arms, any more than it should have the power to abridge the freedom of speech or prohibit the free exercise of religion.
