I dug a little deeper and found that the FDA was tracking formula sales. By volume they increased 13% in April over sales in January. Some 40 of 50 products were available. Variety was the main issue with consumers. Some rare cases of babies with product sensitivities, resulted in medical intervention. Again, Abbott had several opportunities to fix their problems going back to signs in 2019 that something was wrong. This problem, objectively, is totally their doing. A week ago,they finally agreed in court to fix things.
