people _r_us announcement template v. 2.784 | The Alphabet; I just had a big idea about the "Don't Say Gay" bills being passed across America.
It's technically illegal for the government to pass those bills, as it goes against the first amendment in the US Constitution, the Right to Free Speech.
So yeah, the government is breaking its own laws | image tagged in people _r_us announcement template v 2 555 | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

Except there have been numerous times when the Supreme Court has ruled in favor of reasonable restrictions on free speech, the most obvious being 'No shouting "fire" in a crowded theater'.

You would need to argue the restriction is unreasonable. Considering the current make up of the Supreme Court, good luck with that.

Yeah, the don't say gay bills are stupid. I still don't entirely understand them, but it really sounds pointless. People should make a move in their local areas of they don't want their kids learning about lgbtq. Even then, the kids should have some say in what's being taught.

In some states, teachers can be fined or even arrested for saying stuff about LGBTQ, even if it's from a story or something in the book they need to read

Teachers can be sued or fired*

Sadly, as someone who lives in the state of Florida, is gonna have to say this is legal. It's only being applied to public schools, those of which are paid for by civilians who live there. The bill doesn't exactly talk about not saying "gay", but to not teach kids things the parents don't consent on. (This also applies to the sex ed they were giving kindergarteners) so yeah, it's legal. :(

I think the students should at least have some say in what they're being taught

"Kids don't know what's good for them!"
Or
"It's sexualizing kids,"

Sometimes kids do know what's best for them

My parents would never pay for my ADHD medications, because "they aren't right for me" but of course I couldn't say anything because " I'm just a child who doesn't know what's best for me"

Same. I need it, as well as something to address the possibility of me having bipolar disorder, or DID

Yeah, I told them I might be a dark empath, but they refuse to even accept that I have a mental illness. I also have diagnosed depression and anxiety (I had my first attack the other day) and am also a dark empath and probably somewhat autistic, but they don't care. To them its just more to pay on the medical bill

To them it's a demon that Jesus can get rid off

Its not always a demon. Of course, there are very rare cases where it could be a demon, but these incidents are usually isolated. Sometimes, it can be treated with medication or therapy, sometimes not. But this thing where people "oh its just a demon go to church more often" or "its all in your head" like bitch my depression is not caused by ANYTHING external its like saying typhoid fever is all in your body you can just will it out of you with diet and exercise (which is an argument that I've heard people say before with adhd)

I love in Ohio, and we have a variation of it, where it's illegal for any teacher in any type of school, other than homeschool, to inform any student of anything about anything LGBTQ.
This means that entire chapters in any type of textbook that we might use are being erased

That sucks... It bothers me, like, there erasing questions in math like-
"Trisha and her wife Lauren went to go buy apples for a pie! If they buy 15 apples, and each pie needs 5 apples, how many pies can they make?"
But, questions like this are fine!
"Trisha and her husband Lenard went to go buy apples for a pie! If they buy 15 apples, and each pie needs 5 apples, how many pies can they make?"
But, questions like this are fine!

Wtf!

Yeah, it’s bullshit. And they equate anything gay or queer with being overly sexual. They’re obviously homophobic and anti-LGBTQ.
0 ups, 2y
Exactly! I explain to them that just because you see someone of your same gender and say, "damn, they're pretty. I'd date them."
Doesn't equate to anything sexual-
