It doesn’t mean that you should just throw away the cake. You cook the cake, you let it sit for a few moments in the oven, then you take it out (birth). The cake, as it is being carried to the centerpiece, enjoys its childhood. Then, it is placed in the real world and drained of its strength very slowly until it is fully consumed (dies.) That is life. Besides, the woman’s body is constantly working to care for the embryo/fetus. That cake is already cooking itself, except if you take it out of oven and discard it prematurely, you will never get it back. Doing a service to the world by letting that cake cook and that baby develop would be appreciated.
