I kid you not - My mom got a 'Free Internet Service' advertisement from her cable provider. I asked her if I could look into it for her. I called the company and discovered this not-so-funny punchline; my mom uses the most basic cable package which is about $35.00 per month. To get the 'Free Internet', she'd have to upgrade her cable package to a deal that costs about $80.00 per month.
Thankfully I remembered my first two Economics lessons-
1) There's no such thing as a free lunch.
2) If something sounds too good to be true then it probably isn't.
