I do not like democracy trying to overrule liberties. That's why the 10 amendment says the states can choose things OUTSIDE the scope of the constitution. The Supreme Court has decided that the 4th amendment covers the right to privacy, in regards to your person, covers medical decisions and that no state can decide what you can or cannot do outside of major public health issues. Now clearly both states and the federal government break that rule constantly. Drug laws and covid restrictions are clear examples.
Also democracy depends on an intelligent, not "informed", and self reliant populace. Otherwise you will have a bunch of easily swayed people ready to take shit from the competent.
