No where in that passage does it say God sent the bears. Besides the kids were mocking a prophet of God. The old testament also uses alot of hyperbole or exaggeration, so no telling if this really happened. The Catholic church doesn't believe everything in the Bible is to be taken literally. The point in the story is probably that those who represent God and His word should be given a level of respect. You're welcome to discuss these types of bible passages or other teachings of the Catholic church in a respectful manner in this stream.

Never mind "children" in the OT was broadly interpreted to mean "youths", which could mean anyone under the age of 30.

Where in the bible does it say that it is hyperbole and exaggeration? Because if that's not in the bible then you're bearing false witness and need to repent for your wicked, sinful ways.

I had to take a few minutes to just laugh for a few seconds. This is THE FUNNIEST thing I've seen all day. I grew up in a Baptist private school for my literal entire life, and you call me a fake Christian??

If you were actually a Christian then you'd be able to defend your belief instead of coming at me with personal attacks in a desperate attempt to deflect from the fact that everything I've said is correct.

But its a lot easier to pretend to be a Christian on the internet than it is to actually follow the teachings of the bible, so by all means continue with the make-believe.
