Yes, I flipped through 25 pages of politics “Hot.” Yes, it was depressing, and instructive.
It is basically impossible to find liberal content on politics stream. Imgflip right-wingers must be making it so by downvoting every liberal meme they see en masse, as you’ll find considerably more liberal memes when you sort by “New.” They’re upvoting all their own stuff and downvoting everybody else’s. They have the right to do that, snowflakes that they are, but they don’t have much credibility claiming their content is being throttled.
If anything, the site mods ought to be giving liberal content a boost, if they had a goal of making the main “politics” stream even remotely ideologically balanced, but they obviously don’t have that goal.
This is the #1 reason a stream like PoliticsTOO is needed — so that liberals can actually have a community on this website. Without PoliticsTOO, we may as well not exist on Imgflip. Which is exactly what they want.
So yeah. Right-wing memes won’t be featured here. Why? It would turn this stream into a carbon copy of politics stream, and there’s no need, as those memes get plenty of exposure elsewhere.
It’s *not* because we have emotional meltdowns whenever exposed to opinions different than our own. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have even be here on a site that otherwise leans so far to the right.
