traditional bombings did more damage than nukes. also, we gave Japan a chance to surrender before the first bomb, and after the first bomb but before the second bomb. they had plenty of chances.

Could go either way, it’s really a war crime, but the only other way they would surrender is if we fought all the way up the mainland of Japan, and let’s be real, many more people would die that way. Even though Japan had basically lost, they really didn’t show signs of giving in to a surrender. I really think they chose the lesser of the two evils. It ain’t a good option but it’s what they had to work with. Every country has their good and bad moments. Not gonna defend the choice at all since I don’t really like it either.
