He’s saying he wants to make it “free speech.” Not realizing that people use Twitter precisely because it *isn’t* Parler or Gab or those other alt-right sites.
Social media users are finicky. There are many options out there. And those options are getting more politically segregated each year along with our culture at large. If Musk tries to rearrange too much furniture at Twitter, a lot of its liberal users would likely scatter. Though probably not to Imgflip. Lol.
Could he attract enough rightie users from Parler, etc., to Twitter to make up for the losses? Maybe, maybe not.
Elon Musk may not have a viable plan or actually care about making money off of Twitter — but even so, that’s a lot of money to shell out purely for the sake of destruction.
