Actually, they say they want Trump to force the decline of the American Empire. The US has never been stronger. Russia has clearly demonstrated that it is no longer the large-diverse Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, but a second-tier dictatorship. One politico described it as "A gas station with nuclear weapons."
Putin never misses an opportunity to put it to us. He tried to get China to cash in all of the US Treasury Bonds in 2008. He tried to get China to abandon the US Dollar as the basis for international trade. Both acts would cause international economic distress. Putin is just a bad guy looking for an excuse to act out at all times.
