Sarv x Ruv IS and ISN'T cannon. mostly because the Date Mod is just an idea Mike Geno took from the fandom, so, considering how the fandom would go batshit if it was actually cannon, not only will there be a higher demand for MFM to come back, but there will be a hell of a lot more r34 of Sarv and Ruv being shipped together.
