Just stay out of the way as gay and trans people claim their equal share of rights to marry, adopt, affirm their identity in public and live free of hate crimes that disproportionately maim and kill them.

It helps if you can see gay and trans people as actual people, but you can believe they’re green space aliens if you want, as long as you reach the same result.

I’m a heterosexual, I’ve never once in my life been made to feel like I’m somehow lesser-than for being straight. I’ve never had to deal with people saying “Ew! That’s straight!” when expressing disgust at something. I’ve never been told I’m brainwashed for liking the opposite sex. Etc etc.

If you’ve experienced anything like that, seriously, say so. Harassment of anyone is wrong. I just don’t think it ever really happens like that to straight people, not in my experience, not in the experience of every other straight person I know. But my experience doesn’t encompass everything. Therefore I’m always open to new information.
