That doesn’t explain why Trump failed to stop drugs entering the U.S. during the 4 years he was in charge.
The idea of drugs being smuggled across vast open stretches of desert is pretty much a myth. It happens, but much less often than people think. It’s easier to smuggle drugs in through busy “ports of entry”: Official border crossings, airports, etc., where there are lots of people.
Which is why it makes more sense to invest in more Customs agents and tech at the ports of entry… which is exactly what Democrats proposed in response to Trump’s silly fixation on a “wall.”
