This is the dam that used to power Greenville, SC when it first had electric power. Anderson, SC (county next door) is nicknamed "Electric City" because it was one of the first in the country to have electric power, and I believe it is the first to have high voltage generation. There's lots of stuff like that around this area, which as an electrical guy fascinates me :)
