Interesting . . . but then again, the mayor of Houston is a Democrat, and so, too, is the mayor of Austin and the mayor of Dallas. All three are HUGE cities with a huge amount of clout both in Texas and in the rest of the nation. So Texas is NOT one party rule. It's just that the state has got a GOPer governor and most of the state legislature is filled with GOPers. It makes for an interesting political dynamic.
The reason, however, that those three Dem Party mayors DID NOT let parts of their cities burn during the entire year in which radical and hate-filled leftists methodically rioted, looted, burned, mugged, and murdered is because there IS a Republican governor and because the police chief of each major city TOLD the Dem Party mayors that leftist violence WAS NOT going to become the gold standard in THEIR cities.
