If you are a law abiding citizen of the United States its easy to get a passport. Most people don't have one cause they can't afford to visit other countries.

Those people are protesting VACCINE passports, Not proper identification. If every person coming across the border was able to present a valid passport and I.D., they would be welcomed and integrated into the U.S. as quickly as is safely possible. I'm sure many could care less if people immigrating to the U.S. were vaxed for covid or not.

I could care less about what Fox News and the rest of the media has to say on the issue, but I think it is important that we make a distinction between 'valid papers' (for immigration) and vaccine passports (for business and vacation travel).

I hear the fact that most Americans don't have a passport often from my European friends, but I have to remind them that before 9/11 we could travel the entire continent with a driver's license. The USA is a huge area where as Europe is large, but has many countries within a short distance of each other.

Every year I travel a thousand miles to see my parents by car. At no point on that trip do I need a passport. So it's a rather weak statement you didn't need to use to make your point. (Still upvoted )

Very true. An American cousin once explained to me: 'You see Europe as different countries whereas we simply picture different states.' But perhaps it would be nice to see more Americans find stuff out about other countries by actually visiting those countries instead of relying on Fox 'News' telling them every Dutch person walks on wooden shoes and is stoned all day. ;-)

Again, huge country. Many of us travel outside the borders. I first left the country when I was 10. It was a the day trip from where I lived in Florida to Montreal by car. Last trip was to China.

And despite what you hear about Fox news, their viewership is really not that large. Their fans are just very loud.

Good to know it's only a minority that takes everything Fox states for granted.

Some people aren't privileged enough to be able to fly to China even once in their lives.

I did it for work. Just like the month I spent in York. That was nice as I was able to run up to Scotland to see family.
