Consider this. with Nixon, the impeachment process came close to fruition, but didn't get there due to his resignation. So of course, there was no conviction at trial. Imagine if the politicians of that day had gone after him with the same tenacity that our current crop hash gone after Trump? They would have voted to impeach him, and held a trial, all after Nixon resigned and left office. Of course this comparison removes the Ford pardon from the calculus.
Think about that for a minute. We had a president who was caught outright, breaking the law and they let him off the hook, versus a president who did nothing wrong, and they went after him like rabid dogs.
I don't think there could ever be a better example of how TDS has damaged the brains of the modern liberal democrat than a comparison between the two.
