In fact, he recognized that he had broken his agreement and called the judge a month later to apologize. The reasons laws exist is an attempt to make people with poor self-regulatory controls to refrain from hurting the innocent or victimizing the vulnerable.

He is in jail for leading a mob of people in an attempt to capture a cop who was doing his job in the Capitol Building. He was granted release with very few restrictions. He violated one of them.
