None of my teachers radicalized me to the left. I had a teacher who made comments about capitalism, just one, but I disagreed with him at the time. I discovered left-wing politics on my own accord because I heard people talking about libertarian socialism and anarcho-communism online.
What am I supposed to look at? America? We don’t have communism. We have capitalism, thus, we have inequality. Capitalism is the root of inequality. China and other countries do better for the disadvantaged, but they are not communist and fully egalitarian. You can describe them better as state capitalist or market socialist.
The way deaths from “communism” are tabulated is very controversial, because they count those that died as a result of famine and in war. Even if you used the inflated 94 million statistic, capitalism kills more in 5 or 6 years from deaths due to pollution, preventable diseases and starvation and homelessness. Obviously I can’t condone red terror committed against my own comrades, such as anarchists and left-communists, and I think that the structure of Marxism-Leninism necessarily results in despotism, and does nothing to dispose of elitism or social classes and inequality altogether. Thats why I don’t support it. I support anarchist communism.
I will not be dissuaded by bourgeois propaganda.
